Ichthyosaurus - Carnegie Collecton
We love Ichthyosaurus - they were whizzy Jurassic sea animals (a bit like dolphins) ... and, not surprisingly, they ate fish and squid.
This model shows the Ichthyosaurus eating an ammonite ... well ... he's carrying it around in his mouth!
They weren't all that big, about 2m long (except for their eyes, they had BIG eyes)
Their fossils are found in Europe and Ichthyosaurus was the 1st complete fossil found by Mary Anning in Dorset (19th Century)
