Carpopenaeus Shrimp Fossil - Lebanon
Fossilisation is a rare event and that it happens at all is remarkable - that it is possible to get examples where more than one animal has been preserved is amazing.
This fossil is special because there are TWO shrimps preserved - with lots of details remaining to be seen on both creatures.
Block measures 6.5cm x 6.5cm
The shrimps are similar lengths - around 2.5cm long
Around 110 million years old - Lower Cretaceous period
