Megalosaurus - NHM
Let us introduce you to our FIRST Megalosaurus - it's 16cm long and we think he's great!
Megalosaurus is one of those puzzling dinosaurs ... it has been known for a very long time and was probably the first dinosaur to have a proper name (it has quite a rude sounding name at one point too!) However, no one has found a whole head yet, so we can not be sure what it really looked like
For a while it was thought to walk on all four legs. There is a really clunky looking four legged Megalosaurus in the 'Crystal Palace Dinosaurs' ... if you're ever down that way (YES, North Londoners we KNOW it is not possible to cross the river, so you're all exempt!)
It was a therapod dinosaur ... so it definitely walked in two legs and was a top predator in the Jurassic periodÂ
This collection of Dinosaurs is modelled using the latest data available and is endorsed by the Natural History Museum (and we all know how great THEIR dinosaurs are!!!) The figures are ALL at 1/40th scale. N.B. Sales of these dinosaurs support the Natural History Museum
